I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with those you love - I sure did! We had Christmas 3 different times and my kids got way too much stuff! :)

Okay, okay...on to the reason you are reading this - the *FREE* part! :)

I am going to be running a contest. The winner will receive a free portrait session and $25 print credit > that's a $100 value!

The contest is simple - whoever can get the most people to sign up for my blog will be the winner! Here's what to do:

1. Email your family/friends the link to my blog and tell them to SUBSCRIBE

On the right hand side you will see "Subscribe to my Blog" and then a place to put email addresses. Most of you did this already, so you know that once you put your email address in, an email is sent to that address so the person can confirm that they want to sign up. (So, you can't just put all your friend's emails in there! :) ).

2. Tell them to Comment on this post to tell me who sent them (i.e. you :) ) - so that I can give the right person credit. (There's a blue comments link at the bottom of this post).

3. I will tally up the new subscribers and let you know who won!

The fine print:
1. The 0n-location photo session must take place within 20 minutes of Akron PA (17501)
2. Session and credit must be used by 4/09 (I'm having a baby the beginning of June, after all) :)
3. This is an excellent way to win a gift for someone (ex. an expecting mom, graduating senior etc). We have beautiful gift certificates we can give you.

Ridiculous

I have heard people say they weren't getting a tree for Christmas on a given year...mainly because they have a child who is too young and would pull everything off of it....understandable.

Well, I have NEVER heard anyone say they are not getting a tree because they have a kitten. So, let me be the first one to say it.

Kittens destroy your Christmas trees! Don't spend $40 on a tree you wish you could get rid of before Christmas is even here! :)

Previously, this cat tried it's darndest to get outside so it could promptly climb the nearest tree and get stuck. Now, he thinks he is in heaven as we have brought the outdoors into our home.

The tree is a mess - needles and ornaments all over the floor. There are holes and gaps in the tree from the cat climbing the branches. The lights are all askew....and don't ask me what that random branch is hanging from the left. It wasn't like that when we initially decorated the tree. :)

What is it you say when kids get into trouble? Oh yeah, "It's a good thing he's cute!" :)

Savannah is too young to really understand, but it was really neat to see Aiden's reaction when we told him. He got this really big, shy smile on his face and gave me a big hug. He is really excited for the baby and likes to tell people "my mom is going to have a baby!" :)

I had the pleasure of taking pictures of this adorable newborn. Little "Mister J" was a little over 2 weeks old - and did such a great job! In fact, he didn't pee or poop on me once (he decided he was more comfortable doing it on mom and dad!). They were great sports, and it is clear that this little guy has been born into a very loving family.

Rain, Rain Go Away!

This senior session almost didn't happen! As I was driving to Miss M's home, it started to drizzle. I pulled my car over, called her, and we talked...what to do...what to do...Finally, we decided we would just go for it and hope for the best!

And, it's a good thing we did! The light rain completely stopped and held off until the end of the session.

These pictures were taken at her home - a very old farm house with so many really cool spots for pictures!

Miss B

Thank goodness for this mild week. The perfect weather, matched with a beautiful senior, made for a great senior session!
I've known Miss B for a long time and I was honored to be chosen to capture such a special time in her life! She is one of the most fun and adventurous, and tough girls I know. (You should have seen her walking though fields of overgrown brush in her bare feet like it was nothing!) I can't wait to see how God uses her in the future!
Here are a few of my favorites...

Family Session

I had been looking forward to this session for a while. This family is good friends of ours and so much fun! I love it when families are up for anything. It was pretty cold, but the kids did so good! We had a great time playing in the leaves, climbing trees and eating huge lollipops! :)

Miss K

This was the latest senior session I had the pleasure of doing. I really enjoy seniors - they are so fun and are always up for anything! I love the challenge of getting to know them, and then directing them into poses that reflect who they are.

This is Miss K - she was quiet, but definitely has a fun & spontaneous side! Here are a couple I really liked from our session.

Miss H

Well, another beautiful senior! We took these pictures of Miss H at her home - 5 lovely acres of land, and then we borrowed her neighbor's field. :) She is good friends with Miss M (http://bonnie-cbportraits.blogspot.com/2008/07/she-made-my-job-easy.html).
Both girls were there, and we had no problem getting some great smiles and laughs! These two are so much fun! Here are some of my favorites...
















I liked the perspective of this one. :) This is mom in the background, looking on. She was fun - I can tell where Miss H gets her great personality from! :)

Brad & Daniele

We had a fun time with these two! We took these at one of Daniele's favorite spots - Central Market in Lancaster. It's a beautiful area with lovely, old architecture, cobblestone streets, fountains, and lots of fun little nooks and crannies. :)

Daniele was a little uncomfortable with having a camera (well, two cameras :) ) pointed at her, but it was fun to see her and Brad start to relax and just enjoy being together. In fact, that's one of the biggest reasons we do engagement sessions - it's a time for us to get to know the couple better and to make them feel more comfortable in front of the camera - all preparation for their wedding day!
